Accuweigh’s wheel load scales used at Iveco’s truck facility

ACCUWEIGH is supplying its wheel load scales to Iveco’s truck manufacturing facility in Dandenong, Victoria.

The company explains the Accuweigh wheel scales are used to ensure ideal weight distribution is achieved during truck assembly at the plant.

A truck is driven onto the wheel load scales and the individual wheel loading are automatically displayed by the digital weight indicators.

Iveco then repositions the various components of the truck to optimise individual wheel loadings while the truck is on the wheel load scales.

According to Accuweigh, the wheel load scales comprise eight individual scale bases each connected to a separate digital weight indicator. A digital summing unit sums the weight readings from each weight indicator and displays the total vehicle weight separately.

The scale bases used in these wheel load scales measure 600 by 600mm each with a weighing capacity of 5,000kg. They are fitted with on/off ramps for truck access.
