ATA calls for uniform national public holidays

THE Australian Trucking Association (ATA) has called for a uniform public holiday across the country.

ATA says the inconsistency of public holidays across the country such as Canberra’s Family and Community Day public holiday tomorrow will affect Australian businesses such as those in the trucking industry.

ATA claims, the trucking industry will pick up packages today but will need to store the products until Wednesday before they can be delivered.

Tuesday’s public holiday in Canberra will disrupt work flow, ATA says.
