Following the launch of the 2010 National Trucking Industry Awards website, the ATA is calling for nominations from deserving candidates.
The Australian trucking community is being urged to take the time to recognise those who have made a significant difference to the industry.
ATA Chief Executive, Stuart St Clair, says the awards are designed to recognise excellence in all facets of our industry, including the contribution of operators, drivers, trainers and the National Trucking Industry Woman of the Year Award.
The trucking industry can proudly say we carry Australia and this is a time to recognise our achievements,” St Clair says.
“It is important that we identify the individuals who contribute to the trucking industry’s ever growing level of professionalism, so I am urging people to think about an individual or business that stands out in their mind as one who has made an exceptional contribution and nominate them for an award.”
Categories for the 2009 Awards are:
- National Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Australian Trucking Industry;
- National Professional Driver of the Year Award;
- National Australian Trucking Industry Woman of the Year Award; and
- Training Excellence Award.
In addition to the National Trucking Industry Awards, the Don Watson Memorial Award will also be presented to recognise the dedicated efforts of individuals within the broader trucking industry to the activities of the industry network.
The 2009 awards have some fantastic prizes on offer, including three international travel packages.
The National Trucking Industry Awards will be presented at the ATA Foundation Sponsors Gala Dinner, part of the 2010 Australian Trucking Convention to be held on the Gold Coast from 7-10 April.
Nomination forms can be downloaded from the Awards website at www.ataevents.net.au/awards.
