BRISBANE-based transport company, NQX Freight System, has been named as the winner of the trucking industry’s 2009 Training Excellence Award.
NQX Freight System was nominated for its commitment to professional development and staff training.
The Toll Holdings subsidiary has developed innovative career paths for employees and has implemented a mentoring process for the sharing of knowledge and skills, according to the Australian Trucking Association (ATA).
Each employee is recognised and rewarded for career milestones, with individual tailoring of training to ensure they meet their professional development requirements.
NQX Freight System’s successful people management strategy is being implemented state wide and replicated nationally and its leadership strategy applies to every employee at every depot, the company said.
The Training Excellence Award is part of the National Trucking Industry Awards, which are announced each year at the Australian Trucking Convention, held on the Gold Coast last week.
The Chairman of the ATA, Trevor Martyn, said the awards are a crucial part of the industry’s calendar because they identify and reward the people who have contributed to taking the Australian trucking industry to a higher level of professionalism.
