Trucking industry applauds infrastructure spending

THE TRUCKING industry has voiced approval for the Federal Budget's generous allocation to roadworks.

The Australian Trucking Association (ATA)’s Stuart St Clair said the early stage of the infrastructure plan will help road freight travel north and west of Brisbane, and especially through eastern New South Wales.

St Clair praised the announcement to upgrade the Hunter Expressway, at the end of the F3 New England Highway, north of Sydney through to Branxton.

He said it was important to know that the Kempsey Bypass was going to be improved, particularly in regards to the safety of those truck drivers regularly travelling between Sydney and Brisbane.
