WA invests in sustainable fuels for trucking industry

THE WESTERN Australian Government is backing alternative fuels for the transport industry by the investment of over $2 million in sustainable practices.

Transport Minister Simon O’Brien today launched the State Centre for Research into Energy for Sustainable Transport (CREST) at Murdoch University.

O’Brien announced investment will help the university bring together the State's leading researchers in transport fuels and technologies.

He said the transport industry faced many challenges, particularly regarding the development and delivery of alternative transport fuels and markets.

O’Brien added the State Government is committed to fostering the development of new transport technologies, improving environmental efficiencies and sustainable productivity.
