AMETEK Technical and Industrial Products has introduced the Rotron brushless DC motors, specifically designed for applications onboard heavy vehicles.
Ametek says the Rotron brushless DC motors come in a 47 and 64 frame size, both of which are able to deliver up to 60,000 hours worth of power.
According to Ametek, the 47 frame motor series incorporates integral electronics, enabling simple two-wire DC operation which can reach speeds of up to 4,425 RPM.
The 64 frame motor can reach speeds of up to 3,900 RPM and has been sealed with O-rings as standard.
Ametek claims the Rotron brushless DC motors are integrated with rare-earth magnets for high torque and weight ratio, accepting a voltage range of 12 to 110V DC.
Both motors have also been designed to be protectable against reverse polarity and voltage surges.
