GTS Freight Management is a finalist in the WorkSafe Victoria Awards 2009 for designing the Load Restraint Trailer.
According to GTS, the Load Restraint Trailer, which is nominated for Best Design for Workplace Safety, provides a safe and efficient way to handle, load and secure pallets of stock.
GTS says the trailer removes the need for human contact associated with tying down and stacking freight.
Once pallets are loaded by a forklift, a scissor-lift behind the trailer pushes the pallets to the headboard, providing front-and-back load restraint.
The side curtains are then hydraulically secured and the centre wall is moved toward the curtains securing the load to provide side-to-side load restraint.
GTS is one of two finalists in the category.
The WorkSafe Victoria Awards 2009 will be held on 29 October 2009.
